Staff

As in so many things, people make the difference and we think we have some mighty fine ones here at NCBI. Below are the folks who make things happen for KOMW, KNCW and KZBE. Please say hello...

Rick Duck

Rick has been with Okanogan County Radio since 1993. Having grown up in the valley, graduating from Brewster HS and EWU, there’s not many people or business’ he doesn’t know. Rick has been married to Paulet for 20 years. They have two daughters Kennedy and Kodie who attend Omak HS. In his spare time Rick enjoys watching his girls sports, hunting, fishing, camping and hiking.

Chris Schmidt

Chris has been the Program Director since 2000. A Program Director does a variety of things like making sure all the programs that run at various times are ready to go, assigning staff to run sports events and a whole lot more.

Chris grew up listening to KOMW, and thought it would be really neat to work there some day. It has been a dream job since he became a part of the staff in 1989.

Chris studied radio in College, receiving an AAS in Radio from Spokane Falls Community College in 1980. He worked at various Spokane radio stations until 1984, when he came home to Omak to work with John at OKTV.

Chris lives not far from the station with his wife of 35 years, Tina and a house of cute kitties.

Chris considers it an honor to be of service to his hometown and a blessing to work with such wonderful people as he does.

Andrea Martin

Andrea is our Community Events Coordinator.  She works with individuals and groups in and around North Central Washington to help them develop custom marketing packages to ensure the success of their events and fundraisers.  Andrea's favorite part of her job is getting to know new people through events and sales and helping to encourage the success of local musical talent and small businesses.

Jill Gardinier

Traffic Director Jill Gardinier enjoys placing commercials and announcements to promote local businesses and activities.  Greeting callers is also a fun part of her job.  Jill was raised on a ranch in Wauconda where she still enjoys family, the mountains, and animals of all makes and models.  After traveling to further her education, Jill learned first hand that the Okanogan Valley is the best place to call home.  Okanogan Country Radio offers more than great music, it speaks to the heart of the Valley making it the voice and choice for both for Jill and area listeners.
