Burn Ban Lifted in Okanogan County

Okanogan County Commissioners decided to lift the Okanogan County Burn Ban with the recommendation from the District Fire Chiefs as of 10-16-2017.

As a reminded just because the County Burn Ban has been lifted doesn't mean that the city/town burn bans have been lifted. You should check with your local officials for burn bans. The City of Omak lifted their burn ban on October 1, 2017.

Be sure to check with the DNR and USFS for burn restrictions.

If you are burning natural vegetation here are a few tips:
- Burn barrels are illegal.
- DO NOT leave fire unattended.
- Check weather conditions for dry or windy days.
- Keep water hose and hand tools ready in case fire should attempt to spread.
