CBC Election Committee Votes to Stop Ballot Counting in 4 Year Referendum

Press Release

Jan 24, 2020

The Chairman of the Colville Business Council’s Election Committee, Roger Finley, announced that the Election Committee voted unanimously to stop counting referendum ballots regarding Colville Business Council members serving 4 year terms.

“It became evident during the ballot count that there were not going to be enough ballots returned to meet the constitutional threshold to amend the constitution,” Finley said today.  “In order to amend the Constitution of the Colville Confederated Tribes, a majority of the qualified voters must vote in favor of the proposed amendment.”
