City of Omak Utility Customers Encouraged to Switch to Paperless Billing

Jan 29, 2020

The City of Omak encourages its utility customers to enroll in paperless billing through Invoice Cloud, a simple, secure e-billing software system.

The City of Omak began working with Invoice Cloud five years ago to provide a user-friendly e-billing and payment solution for its water, sewer, garbage and storm drainage customers.  With the Invoice Cloud system, customers can review and pay bills, schedule payments and store payment information online.  All utility customers, whether or not they have switched to electronic payments, are encouraged to enroll in paperless billing and receive statements by email instead of mail.

“Residents and property owners who have signed up to use the Invoice Cloud technology have had an easier time making payments and avoiding late fees,” said Connie Thomas, Omak City Clerk.  “Our hope is that customers switch to paperless billing entirely for a more convenient experience.”

Another Invoice Cloud feature available for utility customers is pay-by-text, the option to make payments with a text reply.  Pay-by-text is a convenient way for customers to make payments with their smartphone, without going online.

“Consumers opt for a convenient bill-paying experience” said Bob Lapides, president of Invoice Cloud.  “Electronic platforms make paying bills easier and also reduce paper waste.”
