The Colville Tribes Extends Its Partial Government Shutdown

The partial shutdown of Tribal government currently in effect has been extended until midnight on July 12, 2020 by Resolution of the Colville Business Council. Employees of the Tribal government shall continue in their current status subject to direction by their supervisor.

All other COVID-19 related restrictions are also extended to midnight on July 12, 2020. These include the prohibition of public gatherings or camping in groups of ten or more people, the stay at home order for residents of the Colville Reservation, the prohibition on non-essential business activity on the Colville Reservation, and the closure of the Reservation to outdoor recreational activities such as camping or fishing by non-members. The closure of the Colville Reservation to non-essential visitors continues to midnight on December 31, 2020 as previously ordered. Fines will be imposed for violations of these restrictions.

Rodney Cawston, Chairman of the Colville Tribes, said, “Unfortunately, recent health reports indicate that COVID-19 infections are on the rise within the State of Washington. This virus continues to be dangerous. Public health and safety continues to be the top priority of the Colville Tribes during this pandemic.”
