Construction Begins on Old 97 Wednesday

Construction is set to begin on Old 97 between the Chilowist Road and Malott on Wednesday.

Travelers will encounter single lane traffic during the project and officials say there may be delays of up to 20 minutes. They say every attempt will be made to accommodate local traffic.

The project, being done by Selland Construction, will include pavement pulverization, horizontal and vertical alignment, installation of a culvert at Loup Loup Creek, roadbed reconstruction and asphalt paving.

Officials say the project is scheduled to be completed by October 18, 2011.
