Okanogan Conservation District is hosting two technical workshops for construction professionals in the Methow and Okanogan valleys. The programs will cover the latest research into how homes ignite in wildfire events, and Firewise best practices for both new construction and remodels. There is no fee to attend and a light meal will be provided.
Fire safe construction will be a sales point for clients for some time to come. Many owners of existing homes are receiving wildfire risk assessments and recommendations for retrofits to vents, decks, siding, and roofs. Clients are looking for contractors that know how to build Firewise homes.
