Sheriff's detectives are trying to identify the person who shot a Tonasket man Friday in an orchard on the Loomis-Oroville Road.

The victim, 22-year-old Ivan Morales-Nunez, was in serious condition at a Harborview Medical Center today after he was shot in the head and chest Friday evening.

Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers said Morales-Nunez was taken to North Valley Hospital and then airlifted to Harborview after the shooting.

Rogers said, after being shot, he was able to make his way
to a house and ask for help.

Okanogan County deputies, Tonasket police and U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to the scene, but were unable to locate a suspect. Rogers said, they believe the suspect fled in a vehicle.

The Sheriff said Detectives are attempting to identify a suspect and determine what caused the argument that led to the shooting.
