Mandatory Running Start info sessions in Okanogan County March 14-April 25

Any student interested in Running Start must attend one of the info sessions scheduled at regional high schools March 14-April 25 to learn more about the program. Parents are encouraged to attend with their student but students must be present. No sign-up beforehand is necessary, unless otherwise noted. Schedule of info sessions:

  • Omak High School: Wednesday, March 14, 6 p.m. in OHS Library
  • Tonasket High School: Thursday, March 15, 5 p.m. in HS/MS Library
  • Okanogan High School: Monday, March 19, 6 p.m. in the OHS Library
  • Liberty Bell High School: Wednesday, March 21, 5 p.m. in the LBHS Library
  • Pateros High School: Thursday, March 22, 6 p.m. at PHS Library
  • Lake Roosevelt High School: Monday, March 26, 5 p.m. at LRHS Room 200
  • Oroville High School: Thursday, April 12, 6 p.m. at OHS Library
  • WVC Omak campus: Monday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 25, 5 p.m. Reserve a spot for these sessions by calling (509) 422-7803.

Students and parents at Brewster High School are welcome to come to the Pateros session on March 22. If you don't see your school listed, please check with your high school counselor about when they plan to offer an information session. It is mandatory that a student attend an information session to be eligible for the program.

Running Start is a program that allows 11th and 12th grade students to take college courses at Washington's 34 community and technical colleges. Students earn both high school and college credits for these courses. Running Start students and their families do not pay tuition. They are responsible for mandatory fees, books and transportation.
