Jul 11, 2017

A twenty-year-old Nespelem man has been charged with DUI and Vehicular Assault following a single vehicle rollover accident on State Route 155 one mile north of Nespelem Monday night that injured multiple passengers including one who was air lifted to Spokane in critical condition.

According to the Washington State Patrol report, 20-year-old Curry Pinkham of Nespelem was driving southbound at a high rate of speed when his vehicle left the roadway to the right.  Pinkham lost control in the gravel, entered a field going over an embankment. The vehicle rolled once, coming to rest on it’s wheels.

All four occupants, none of whom were wearing seatbelts, were injured in the accident.  Pinkham along with two teenage passengers were all transported by ambulance to Coulee Medical Center with unspecified injuries.  A fourth occupant, 20-year-old Lucinda Stensgar was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

The State Patrol says drugs or alcohol were involved and have charged Pinkham with Driving Under the Influence and Vehicular Assault.
