Omak School Board Member Resigns

Omak School Board member Gary S. George, who was appointed in 2017 to fill a vacant position, resigned Thursday after learning he does not live within the Director District 4 boundaries.

The error was discovered as district officials prepared documentation for this fall’s general election, according to a school district news release.

George voluntarily resigned, based on advice from district legal counsel.

The district said it will make an announcement soon for those interested in the position.
