Record Temperatures to Ring in New Year

It was a record start to 2020 in the Okanogan Valley according to the National Weather Service which saw highs reach 49 degrees at the Omak Airport.

Meteorologist Rocco Pelatti says the old record was 48 degrees in 1997.

The normal high temperature for New Years Day in Omak is 30 degrees.

Other high temperatures in the area Wednesday showed Republic at 47 degrees, Twisp reached 48, Winthrop reached 45, Coulee Dam hit 53 degrees, Oroville reached 45 and Brewster saw a high of 54 degrees.
