The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible murder suicide in Malott.  Sheriff Frank Rogers said deputies responded the a shots fired call at 1481 Old Hwy 97 in Malott around 12:30 pm Monday. He said when Deputies arrived at the scene they found two men both dead from gunshot wounds.

Rogers said their investigation showed that 65-year-old William T. Bordua, of Okanogan and his wife Anita Bordua had gone to the residence, which they own, to evict the man living there, 47-year-old Tony J. Halford.

He said, “Apparently while the Bordua’s were in the bedroom in the house with Halford an argument ensued and Halford became aggressive towards Anita Bordua.” Rogers said William Bordua stepped between Halford and his wife and that is when “Halford reached over to the bed and pulled a semi-automatic 40 caliber pistol from beneath the pillow and shot William Bordua once in the chest, killing him.”

The Sheriff said “Halford then told Anita Bordua the next bullet was for her” but instead, he walked out onto the front porch and shot himself. Both William Bordua and Halford were pronounced dead at the scene.

Anita Bordua was not hurt during the incident.

Rogers said, “This is the fourth murder in Okanogan County this year.”
