The Okanogan County Treasurer's office is reminding taxpayers that the first half property taxes are due by April 30, 2011. This year however, taxpayers will get a couple extra days to make that payment, thanks to the 30th falling on a weekend.

The Treasurer's office will be open and accepting payments on Monday May 2, 2011 and payments postmarked on that date will be considered on time.

Treasurer Leah McCormack says that interest and penalties will start accruing on Tuesday May 3, 2011.

If you are mailing your taxes, you need to send your payment to:
OKANOGAN COUNTY TREASURER
P.O. BOX 111
OKANOGAN, WA 98840

You may also pay your taxes with a credit card. To do that you need to go online to www.officialpayments.com or by calling toll-free 1-800-272-9829. You will need to be sure to have the jurisdiction number of 5633, the tax amount, and parcel number that you are paying ready when you log on or call.
