Tonasket Man Wanted for Attempted Murder

Officials are trying to locate a Tonasket man, accused of shooting another man in the head and chest Friday evening in an orchard near Loomis.

Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers said they are looking for 28-year-old Bernadino Valle-Padilla, of Tonasket. Padilla is wanted on suspicion of Attempted Murder and First Degree Kidnapping, in connection with the shooting of 22-year-old Ivan Nunez-Morales on Friday.
Rogers said, "Padilla shot Morales twice, once in the face and once in the chest." The Sheriff said, Padilla then allegedly took another subject at gun point and ordered him to drive him from the scene." He said, Padilla exited the vehicle approximately ten miles away from the scene and has not been seen since.

Morales was in satisfactory condition Monday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Padilla is accused of using a 25 caliber handgun during the shooting. Rogers said, "Padilla is considered armed and dangerous." Padilla does have past convictions for felony assault.
