Two Arrested Following Assault in Bridgeport

On August 24, 2020 at 4:42 PM Okanogan County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a weapons offense complaint at 50 Pariseau Rd; The Johns Farm Camp #4 Bridgeport, WA.  While Deputies were in route, they were advised another employee had fired two shots at him. 

When deputies arrived at about 5:08 PM they were directed to a row where they made contact with Angel Martinez-Valencia, 24 year old male (Bridgeport).  Martinez-Valencia reported he had been shot at by a male who he was familiar with, but did not know his name.  He reported three shots were fired into the ground near him with one almost striking his right foot.

Deputies were able to locate the male, Victor Villareal-Chavez 21 year old male (Bridgeport).  Villareal-Chavez stated when he arrived at the cabins he observed Martinez-Vallencia assaulting another male.  He stated he was told to stay away from Martinez-Vallencia so he went to his cabin.  While he was outside of his cabin Martinez-Vallencia approached from behind in with a 10” blade knife.  He returned to his cabin and retrieved his handgun then went outside and fires three times into the ground.  He stated he did not want to shoot Martinez-Vallencia.  He just wanted to shoot close to him.    

Deputies were able to recover the .22 caliber handgun.   

Martinez-Valencia was arrested for Assault in the 1st degree.  Villareal-Chavez was arrested for Assault in the 1ste Degree and Resident Alien in Possession of a Firearm.  Both were booked into Okanogan County Jail.
