Unemployment Rate in Okanogan County Lower in July

July Unemployment.jpgThe Washington State Employment Security Department has released county unemployment numbers for July on Tuesday. North Central Washington once again had some of the lowest rates in the state with Chelan County’s unemployment coming in at 3.7 percent, the third lowest in Washington.

Douglas County’s unemployment rate at 4.6 percent was the was the fourth lowest in the state. Okanogan County’s unemployment rate 5.3 percent for the month tied it for 11th place with Walla Walla and Thurston counties. That rate was down from 6 percent in June.

The highest unemployment rate in the state was Ferry county at 9.8 percent, but that is down from 10.5 percent in June.

The state’s unemployment rate for July was 4.5 percent.
