Wagonroad Coulee Fire Put Out Quickly by Crews

Firefighter’s quick response Monday to a brush fire south of Tonasket, stopped the fire before it was able to threaten several homes.

The Wagonroad Coulee Fire just north of Crumbacher was contained shortly before noon on Monday morning at 9.4 acres.

Crews from the Tonasket Fire Department, Forest Service and DNR all responded with multiple trucks, four planes, one helicopter and one dozer involved in suppression.  Tonasket fire was released about 11:40am while DNR crews remained to do mop up.  They were able to clear the scene around 6:30pm.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
