September Unemployment Rates - NCW

Unemployment in North Central Washington was once again some of the lowest in the state, while Northeast Washington has the highest rates.

Chelan County had the fourth lowest unemployment rate in the state for the month of September according to the Washington State Employment Security Department.

The county had 3.8 percent unemployment, behind only King, Snohomish and San Juan Counties and only those four were below four percent.

Okanogan County’s unemployment was 4.8 percent, Douglas County’s rate was 4.5 percent and Grant County had 5.2 percent unemployment.

In the northeast corner of the state, Ferry County came in with the highest rate in the state at 9.6 percent, Pend Oreille county was 7.9 percent and Stevens County came in at 5.8 percent for the month of September.

The state unemployment rate was 4.6 percent for the month.
