The Pateros Nannies girls basketball team overcame an early slump to beat the Republic Tigers 61-42 in 1B state regional play Saturday from Wenatchee.
It was an ugly start for the Nannies ending the first quarter with a 12-6 deficit.
But once Pateros settled in, there was no looking back, the Nannies took a 22-21 halftime lead and turned that into a 10-point edge with consecutive 3-pointers by Vanessa Figueroa and Lorie LeDoux late in the third quarter. Pateros outscored Republic 39-21 in the second half.
Pateros will take on Wilber-Creston at the Spokane Arena Thursday starting at 7:15pm.
